Beaches around La Manga and the Mar Menor
The La Cala Beach Cove, La Manga Club’s private beach, is a delightful place to spend the day on the shore of the Mediterranean. The sheltered calm waters are complimented with by an exceptional restaurant serving great fish and paella dishes.
A five minute drive from La Manga Club Resort takes you down to the Mar Menor Beach Club where the safe and shallow waters offer a wide variety of watersports.
The Mar Menor is Europe's largest salt water lagoon and boasts over 170 square kilometres of shallow warm water that is divided from the open Mediterranean by a long narrow peninsula, which has blossomed into the lively resort area of La Manga Beach. Flanked by mile after mile of wonderfully sandy beaches, it's always possible to find a sheltered suntrap to really work up a tan or have a go at your favourite watersport. Venture down on a summer evening and you'll find La Manga Beach alive with a variety of excellent restaurants, bars and nightspots open until the early hours.
Behind the Club is a local nature reserve which meanders down to the unspoilt beaches on the Mediterranean Sea. Calblanque has amazing footpaths down to the beach and the backdrop is absolutely stunning although access is through a rough track, which is signposted off the main motorway.
